We do the best we can with the tools we have at the time. Sometimes the tools we have are not enough for what we’re facing, or they’re causing just as much trouble as the problems we use the tools on. Working as a partner or teammate with each person, I help people build new skills to reclaim their power and take control in their lives. I do this through using a variety of techniques, tailoring my approach to the needs of each person. Tied into all of my work is my belief in the inherent worth, strength, and capability of every person.
My work is informed by intersectional feminism, meaning that I recognize the many layers of internal and external factors that may influence a person’s well-being. I welcome and strive to provide a safe, affirming place for individuals, couples, and families of any race, religion, ability, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, and relationship structure. My focus is in treating pre-teens, teens, and adults of all ages who are experiencing anxiety, depression, the effects of trauma, chronic stress related to identity-related rejection/oppression or other life circumstances, relationship difficulty, and a range of other life complications.
