It is possible that right now you are silently struggling. On the outside, you try to keep it all together so that you can go to work, school, and tend to your family at home, but on the inside you may be carrying a lot of grief, shame, and worry. You don't want to burden others around you, so you have been on this journey alone up until this point. As a mental health counselor and art therapist, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for caregivers, college/masters level students, parents, and creative individuals to have a space to retreat to, pause, and to begin to heal.
Many individuals I work with say that they struggle with codependency, finding the right career path, feeling highly sensitive, imposter syndrome, parenting, relationships, or issues related to their racial, gender, and sexual identity. My clinical focus is to help increase self-compassion and mindfulness through talk therapy, creative writing, and art making.
I recognize that there is no 'one-size-fits-all' approach to therapy and find it important to collaborate with each client along the way. Together we can reflect on life's challenging questions, share a few laughs, learn that it's okay to make mistakes, and use the therapy space to celebrate all that you are doing to be the person you are becoming.
